Our second day at Disney we spent at Epcot. Epcot is one of those parks where you either love it or don't. We enjoy Epcot, as does Cadence. They have a lot focused towards smaller children and it's a learning experience as well.
The biggest attraction is Epcot's World Showcase, which is where they have re-made different countries all over the world: Mexico, China, Japan, United Kingdom, Norway, Germany, Italy, Morocco and France. Disney is true to form as far as the countries are concerned. In each country the cast members are originally from that part of the world. It's so amazing!
We had breakfast reservations at Akershus Royal Banquet Hall (located in Norway) to dine with the Princesses. This meal was family style where they bring you these huge platters of food and you eat what you want. Huge servings of bacon, eggs, sausage and hashbrown casserole. They also had a fruit bar with decadent strawberries, melon mix, raspberries, blackberries, etc. You name it, they had it and it was delicious!
Tarl and I were truly nervous with getting the dining plan. We didn't think the food was going to be that tasty but boy were we wrong! It exceeded our expectations!
As soon as you walked into Askershus we got to meet Belle, Cadence's favorite princess.
At Akershus they have the royal procession where each child lines up and they walk around the restaurant with the princesses. It's similar to a parade. They play princess music and dance. It was a lot of fun. Well wouldn't you know, Cinderella came up, grabbed Cadence by the hand and held her hand the entire time during the procession. Cadence loved it and it made her day!
They walked around the restaurant hand in hand for at least 5 minutes, dancing and laughing.
With this meal you also get a large printed picture of you and Belle, along with four 4 x 6 pictures in a decorated paper frame. I'm telling you the dining plan is so worth it!
After breakfast we walked around taking in the sights of the world showcase and met some characters.
I may be almost 28 years old, but let me tell you I love me some Aladdin! I couldn't help but take a picture with him and Jasmine!
Remember when I told you about the "small" things that Disney does that make it so special. Well the janitorial staff in Epcot is amazing, just look what they do while cleaning the streets - mop art!
There is a ride in Epcot called Living with the Land. You explore different habitats and plants, as well fish and other things. The neat thing about that ride is they actually use the vegetables and fish they have in Disney restaurants.
After we rode a lot of rides we used one of our snack credits in Paris by getting some gelato.
Cadence got the vanilla, I got chocolate and Tarl got this amazing ice cream sandwich made with donuts. It was served hot with a cold gelato center. It was delicious!
Each day we let Cadence choose one prize, on this day she chose a Chinese umbrella.
After our snack we rode some more rides. The Florida sun had come out in full force by 2 o'clock so we went back to our resort, swam in the huge pool and enjoyed the water slide.
At around 5 we got ready for our dinner reservation at Ohana's located in Disney's Polynesian resort.
The dinner experience and food at Ohana's I heard so much about prior to my booking it. Tarl wasn't thrilled because he didn't like the sound of Hawaiian food but boy was he wrong. This was his most favorite meal of the entire week and our seat for the evening was on point! A window view directly in front of Cinderella's castle.
The Polynesian is one of Disney's Deluxe resorts. It also has the monorail option which is the big tram up in the air that Disney has (which is a ride in itself!). We arrived at the Polynesian hungry and ready to eat!
This is another meal they serve to you family style. Big platters of noodles, pork dumplings, salad and big skewers of shrimp, pork and steak. It was so yummy!
After dinner we rode the monorail from resort to resort then headed back to our room to get ready for our first Magic Kingdom day on Monday!
When we got back to our resort Tinker Bell had left Cadence Doc McStuffins jammies.
As soon as we laid down to go to sleep we started hearing this loud thunder noise. It was faint, but enough where you could hear it. We ran outside of our room where we had a lake view and you could see Epcot's fireworks. It was so beautiful and right outside of our room. We sat there and watched them right off of the balcony. It was such a special and relaxing way to end our second day at Disney.
