To describe our growing up in the lowcountry of South Carolina, I would have to take you to the marsh on a spring day, flush the great blue heron from its silent occupation, scatter marsh hens as we sink to our knees in mud, open an oyster with a pocketknife and feed it to you from the shell and say, 'There. That taste. That's the taste of my childhood.' - Pat Conroy

Anticipating

As excited as I am about leaving for our mini-vacay tomorrow I always hate the anticipation the day before, which would be today. It seems like the work day drags by, then when you get home, and although you may have 100 more things to do or pack or clean, it still drags by, and then vacation itself will get here and it will go by in an instant.

I am so ready though. We have been looking forward to this trip for a while. I'm a rollercoaster girl. I love a theme park. If you give me the choice of a serene mountain top with a hot tub, and a view, I'd still pick the rollercoaster. Every.single.time...that's just me.

On a different subject here are some new bracelets I just recently purchased and I'm in love!

As I have said a thousand times before, I love anything with an anchor. To me it's so indicative of Southern Summer, so when I saw the anchor bracelet it was a must have. I've wanted a cross bracelet for a long time now, but the ones I have seen are the real long crosses and I don't really care for them, then I saw this little number and was sold. My new favorite though is my hot pink infinity bracelet. Once again, anything pink and sparkly :)

Well that's it for me folks, I'm off to ride these...

Catch Up

Sami's Shenanigans

This weekend was spent with family and we had such a great time. That extra day off work really did the trick, and I'm about to make you really jealous, I not only had yesterday off for Memorial Day, but I also have this Friday off because we're going out of town...let's hear it for a 3 day work week!

Essentially, today is my hump day! Woot - woot!

Here is a sneak peak of my weekend.

Saturday

We spent most of the day Saturday at the redneck beach, our pond. We fished, layed out, splashed and had a good ole time at home.

...and of course it wouldn't be a blog post without a selfie :)
#nofilter #sunshine

Sunday

The hubby went fishing with his dad, so princess and I went to the pool and had a blast floating around. It was so hot outside but the pool water was nice and cool!

Monday

Monday was probably my most favorite day out of the entire weekend, although it was the last day of the long weekend. My little family, along with my dad and nephew, went fishing. Princess was the first one to catch a fish, and she went on to catch 5 total. Yesterday was a memory I will always cherish because my dad was there to help her bait her line and reel the fish in, just like he used to do with me when I was a child. It was very touching to see them interact and be able to snap pics of it to look back on and remember. Hubby also caught a nice sized catfish :)

Once we got done fishing we played in the sand pile for I know a good two hours. Cadence buried her cousin in the sand, and the funniest part of the day was when we made a tunnel and one of the chickens walked through it. #redneckcomedy

Although this will be the shortest week with me only working three days, I know these days will drag. Oh well, I have something to look forward to this weekend.

It's the Freakin Weekend

Oh my word y'all I am so happy that it is Friday! Not only is it just Friday, but it is a 3 day weekend, and on top of that Summer is officially here. {insert ecstatic face here}

I love the summer time.

Before you read the rest of this post, hit play and enjoy my favorite Summer Jam.

I bought my very first white bikini. I have always wanted one, and after talking with Victoria's Secret personnel on how it is lined tremendously for coverage I finally purchased one.

Please be advised, although I am Miranda, I'm not Miranda Kerr, although I wish I did look this good! I'm lucky to look half as hot. #ohwell #bringonsummer

I'm getting really excited about next weekend. My sister and her family along with my family are all going to Wild Adventures for the weekend. It's really inexpensive and you get a lot of bang for your buck. "That's what she said." Had to put that in there :)

That last one pretty much sums it up.
I hope each of you have a great Memorial Day weekend and enjoy the beginning of your summer. I've looked at the weather and I see that in some parts of the country it's supposed to be really chilly, that is the great thing about Carolina - it's gorgeous and warm right now!

Be jealous? :)

Dream Getaway

I believe that each of us has that one place that we really want to go to more so than any others, excluding my dad. He is probably the only person in the world who is content with where he is and has no desire to travel. #redneck #LoveHim

I however, am the complete opposite. I absolutely love to travel and jump at any chance I can too.
My #1 spot I want to visit in North America is New York City. I have always dreamed of grabbing a muffin while eyeing jewelry in the window at Tiffany's. #BreakfastAtTiffanys

It's a must for me to take a picture at 64 Perry Street. For those who don't know this is Carrie Bradshaw's apartment. I was and always will be a huge Sex and the City fan. Of course I have to have a worlds famous frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity, skate at Rockefeller center while seeing the tree light up in December. Stroll through Central Park, and take a picture of The Statue of Liberty.

One day...

However, if finances were limitless, I want to visit France, mainly because I think it would be so bad ass to learn French and be able to visit and speak fluently, but also because it is absolutely amazing! Now when I say France, I don't just mean Paris, I mean a lot of different places,
let's explore, shall we?

I truly think it would be such an amazing experience to travel to a different country and to have to learn a different dialect to do so. Although I can't imagine my southern accent with a French dialect. I'm sure it would be awful, but I sure would try!

jusqu' à la prochaine fois
