To describe our growing up in the lowcountry of South Carolina, I would have to take you to the marsh on a spring day, flush the great blue heron from its silent occupation, scatter marsh hens as we sink to our knees in mud, open an oyster with a pocketknife and feed it to you from the shell and say, 'There. That taste. That's the taste of my childhood.' - Pat Conroy

Weekend Recap

Friday was a very good mail day. Our magic bands and luggage tags arrived and our Disney excitement went into overdrive. We are in vacation mode and cannot wait to be in sunny Florida!

Speaking of sunshine, Saturday was absolutely gorgeous, in fact, most of this weekend was beautiful in the lowcountry. On Saturday morning we made our way to Hilton Head. I wanted to visit their local Lilly Pulitzer store for lunch at Lilly and I came out with this two piece Flamenco set and the matching wristlet. Although this set is two pieces, it's a high skirt, and as you can tell, very little skin shows. I'm a mom, and almost in my 30s and I'm not about to show off all of my stomach for the world to see unless I'm in a bathing suit near a pool or the beach...but the way this is made is just perfect for summer days, date nights, or even the upcoming cruise :)

Cadence's best friend stayed the night with us on Saturday, so after we let them play and get some energy out we took them for pizza and ice cream. Such little sweeties! Tarl was as equally excited about the ice cream, but then again, so was I!

Having lived in Savannah's backyard our entire lives we have never seen the fountain in Forsyth park gushing with green water, as it does, during the week of St. Patrick's Day, so on Sunday we made it a point to see it.

All three of us adore walking the Savannah squares and it was a perfect day to do just that!

These two! #love

Forsyth Park is always pretty, but with all of the spring blooms it was stunning!

We found the fountain!

After lunch and spending time in the park it was still pretty early so we made our way to Tybee. It was so nice and warm and gorgeous in downtown, but once we got on the beach it was so chilly. Needless to say we didn't stay long. Enough time for Cadence to dip her toes in the water and call it a day. Second best, more ice cream!

All in all, a great weekend! Now that the time has changed my butt is dragging this morning. Off to sip on lots of coffee!
