To describe our growing up in the lowcountry of South Carolina, I would have to take you to the marsh on a spring day, flush the great blue heron from its silent occupation, scatter marsh hens as we sink to our knees in mud, open an oyster with a pocketknife and feed it to you from the shell and say, 'There. That taste. That's the taste of my childhood.' - Pat Conroy

Friday Five - lots of goodies!

Happy Friday pretties! Is it just me, or did this four day week feel like a five day? I'm so happy that Friday is here and am even happier that next week will also be a four day work week for me because I'm off next Friday as well. Holla!

Let's get started with the Friday Five, shall we?

one //

I shared with you a little yesterday about some of my current makeup faves. The reason I say current is because I'm always experimenting with some type of eye-shadow or mascara, however I have found some of my "holy grail" products that I use all the time!

one - Loreal Color Truth Eyeliner
two - Loreal True Match Lumi
three - Urban Decay Naked Pallette 2
four - Maybelline Instant Age Rewind Dark Circles Concealer
five - Loreal Infallible 24 Hour Eyeshadow in Amber Rush
six - Maybelline Expertwear Eye Shadow Quad in Chai Latte
seven - Revlon Colorstay Lipstick in Soft Nude
eight - Revlon Colorstay Lip Gloss in Peach Petal
nine - Maybelline Dream Lumi Highlighting Concealer
ten - Loreal Voluminous Miss Managa Mascara
eleven - Aveeno Positively Radiant Tinted Moisturizer in Medium

I started wearing eyeliner when my mama first allowed me to wear makeup at 15 and I haven't skipped a day since. I've been through countless eyeliners from high end to low end, but have found one that glides on smooth, lasts all day, doesn't smudge and it doesn't break the bank! My go to eye-shadow colors are always neutrals (creams, nudes, whites, grays and browns) so #3, #5, and #6 are perfectly pigmented with a good variation of matte colors as well. Two items I will always have are #7 and #8. Together they make the most perfect nude lip with just a hint of pink. I have found Aveeno has the best moisturizer thus far and I always apply this prior to putting on my foundation. I'm currently loving #2 - it's a dupe for MACs foundation at less than half the cost! Four and #9 are perfect for under eye circles as well as highlighting and I have fallen in love with #10 - this mascara is on point and Loreal has done a great job *claps hands for Loreal*

You may have noticed two very important things off this last - blushes and bronzers. Truth is, I have yet to find one that I would call a fave. I'm still on the search so if you have any recommendations I'm all ears.

I've heard some great things about Nars Bronzing Powder in the shade, Laguna

I've also heard great things about their blush. Most prominently known around "blogland" is the color, Orgasm (lovely name, right?!), but out of all their blush colors, Super Orgasm looks like more my style plus let's face it, do we want to have an orgasm or a super orgasm? #nuffsaid

So thoughts on good bronzers and blushes...go!

two //

Coinciding with the above, brushes are the true stars when applying makeup. A great makeup brush can make or break a flawless finish, literally. There are a lot of great drugstore products, because that's mainly what I use, but investing in a good makeup brush is truly worth the money spent. I have so far invested in a MAC brush that is good for applying pressed powder or liquid foundation. A Clinique eyeshadow brush, which perfectly blends different eyeshadow colors together, and my most recent brush purchase is the Sigma F80 Kabuki which is my go to face brush. Used for liquid foundation, powder and blending.

Trust me when I say, you get what you pay for with brushes, invest! I have several drug store brushes made by different brands, and although they suffice, they're just not up to par with the higher end versions, not yet anyways.

three //

God willing, a week from today I will wake up in this beautiful place!

Walk along the pristine shores of Navarre Beach, in Santa Rosa County, Florida. Santa Rosa Island is a barrier island in the Gulf of Mexico.
Navarre Beach, Florida

Myself, my husband and our good friends Emily and Daniel are travelling down to the beautiful blue waters of Destin, Florida. We are going to enjoy time spent on the beaches of not only Destin, but Navarre Beach as well, with a fruity drink in our hands and many memories made #cantwait

four //

I just bought a new bathing suit a couple weeks ago from Victoria's Secret and it arrived yesterday (just in time for Florida!)

I am obsessed with the shape, fit and the color! I normally go with a simple bikini, but am loving the halter style top. It's their new Very Sexy Getaway Halter in the color Berry Gelato Lace and I am smitten!

via

It's also on sale right now, so hurry!

five //

It's Friday, that's the best way to end this post! :)

You can keep up with my lowcountry life on instagram here!
See what I pin over the weekend here!

current faves

Sometimes when us bloggers have absolutely nothing to blog about we have to pull an idea out of our ass, am I right? A lot of times I will turn to FaceBook articles, Pinterest, or fellow blogs for inspiration but today I decided to share with you my favorites...let's get started!

Reading books for me comes in waves, if you will. I go a month or two and do nothing but read. I'll go to my local library or download a new book onto my kindle. I am the type of person who gets lost in the book if it's interesting and will read it from cover to cover. My favorites are the Romance/Sex novels, like the Crossfire series or of course 50 Shades of Grey. I also love anything by Emily Giffin. Then I'll go 6+ months without reading anything...with summer approaching though, I'm in the mood to get lost in a good book!

I plan on reading The Secret Sex Life of a Single Mom. They made a Lifetime movie out of it, so I'm going to read the book before the movie airs, just to see if it's worth watching. Have you read it, thoughts?

//

Within the past year I have started dabbling into higher end makeup. Let's face it, I'm not one who can go out weekly, or even monthly, and purchase $100 worth of MAC products, which will get you about two items, compared to about 15 items at the drugstore, if not more!

I am going to put it simply, there is a dupe for every high end product out there, it's just a matter of finding it. The best drugstore foundation in my opinion, and my current favorite, is Loreal's True Match Lumi Foundation. It provides a luminous finish and doesn't give too much shine which we all need to avoid. I have MACs foundation, and this provides just as much coverage. The only difference is MACs foundation will last all day, and Loreals will only last about 5-6 hours, but a great primer can fix that issue.

Loreal's True Match Lumi

I have a major dark circle issue that is hereditary (thanks dad!) So I require two products for my under eye area. To conceal any darkness under my eye I use Maybelline's Dream Lumi Touch Highlighting concealer.

Dream Lumi™ Touch Highlighting Concealer
via

This is the best drug store concealer that I have found and it truly gives me full under eye coverage, and trust me my dark circles are awful!

I personally love a light under eye area. It highlights anyone's face to add a touch of brightness in that spot. Although it's actually used as a concealer, I prefer to use it as a highlighter and that's also by Maybelline - Instant Age Rewind Eraser.

Instant Age Rewind® Eraser Dark Circles Concealer + Treatment
via

I don't just use this under my eyes, but I also apply this to my temples and under my chin to achieve a flawless highlighted look. I don't even want to go out and try to find a high end version because this works wonders!

While we are on the subject of Maybelline, several beauty guru's raved about their Fit Me Concealer, so naturally I had to try. I have to say I'm a little bummed out. It creased really bad for me, and I had to apply three coats to achieve full under eye coverage, so I'm going to stick with their Dream Lumi Touch - if you're looking for a good concealer, go and get this immediately - you won't regret it!

The last makeup product I'm going to discuss for today (because otherwise we would be here until dark reading this blog post if I told you about all of my fave products) is mascara - the holy grail of the makeup world! If ever I feel like touching up, I don't resort to pressed powder or a lip touch up, I go straight for mascara! It immediately draws attention to your face and gives your eyes that pop you were looking for!

My two favorites right now that I alternate with each day are both by Loreal.

First is their Voluminous False Fiber Lashes...

undefined - Eyes - L'Oreal Paris
via

...and their newest, Voluminous Miss Manga.

undefined - Eyes - L'Oreal Paris
via

I love both of these equally. They last all day and I have to use makeup remover (or warm water and soap) to get it off each night. They extend my lashes wonderfully without clumping, and separates each strand to give you that "falsy" look. I honestly couldn't pick my favorite between these two!

//

Most everyone in blogland talks about their favorite snacks and I realized this morning that I never have. I have three go to snacks. The first are Cheez-Its. I loved those little baked crackers with a glass of ice cold pepsi.

My second is sliced apples in cinnamon sugar - #delish!

Lastly are fresh baked blueberry muffins. My favorite are Jiffy's (the cheap $0.50 box). You just can't beat the deliciousness of a fresh baked warm muffin!

//

My favorite shoes are my heels. I love wearing my skinny jeans with a pair of nude pumps and a white tank top. It's the best date night outfit invented. I'm a shorty...topped out at 5 foot 5 inches, so heels give me that boost I want. I love my black stillettos, they are a wardrobe staple that every girl needs to own, but my current favorite is definitely my nude pumps!

//

My favorite thing to do in the summer is dependent upon the time of day. If it's during the day, the pool is the best. You don't have crowds, it's just you and your family. You don't have to worry about sharks or not being able to see the water, it's just refreshing to swim with the ones you love and enjoy the time spent together having fun.

At night, after dinner is cooked and the house is clean, right at twilight before the sky gets dark, I love riding up town to grab an ice cream cone, and eating it on the way home laughing with Tarl and Cadence. We do this at least twice a week during the warmer months and it's my most favorite thing!

What are your favorites?
(Emily - I just gave you a blog post idea! :) )

travel & beauty

Truth is, Tarl and I are very fortunate in the fact that we get to travel often. I'm not saying that the places we go are elaborate like London, Paris or New York (wish list!) but we do have the pleasure of travelling whenever we feel like getting out of town.

As most of you know we have our Disney vacation planned for the fall months later on in the year as well as the weekend trips we have done with Cadence in the past six months, like St. Augustine, Florida, the Riverbanks Zoo in Columbia, SC, and of course the wonderful city of Charleston.

I'm not going to say we don't get time alone, because that would be a lie. Tarl and I are both blessed with wonderful parents who love our little rugrat just as much as we do and they don't mind
kid-sitting (Cadence hates the term baby-sitting-she's a "big girl" now, remember) while we enjoy ourselves.

However, we rarely travel with friends. The last time we travelled with our friends Emily and Daniel was before either one of us were married and the thought of children was the last thing on our minds. I'm happy to say we have a trip planned to visit sunny Florida, Destin to be more specific, in the next few weeks.

Destin, Florida is a place that Tarl has been but I have not. He's raved about the beaches ever since his trip back three years ago to visit friends. He says the water is pristine and clear and the beaches are white and sandy. Emily and I are beyond excited. I'd tell you to go visit her blog to learn more about her, but she hasn't posted since March, and her post before that was the beginning of February #lame

Destin, Florida- 2002,2009, 2012, and upcoming 2013 vacation. Just can't get enough of this place!

Visit Harborwalk Village in Destin, Florida via Mark Walter | Resorts of Pelican Beach in Destin FL

Destin, Florida Crab Island :) a great place to hang out on the Gulf

So now the list(s) begin...

Over the weekend I found my most favorite beauty guru while searching through random tutorial videos on youtube. I'm sure a lot of you have heard of her since I've been completely out of the loop - but Jaclyn Hill is amazing. Her makeup techniques are so easy to follow, and not only does she do product spotlights on expensive products, but she does drugstore purchases as well. I have been obsessing over her videos. Not only is she gorgeous, but her personality is hilarious and I truly enjoy watching her share tips and makeup tricks.

She constantly raves about Sigma's F80 Kabuki brush to apply foundations. It makes her foundation look flawless so I knew I had to add it to my brush collection. I purchased off amazon using ebates and got 3% cash back - holla!

You can find Jaclyn Hill's Youtube channel here.

And here is the video where she uses drug store makeup to achieve a flawless finish - this is the video where I swooned over her knowing that I don't have to pay for expensive beauty products and yet can still achieve an expensive makeup look.

After work I'm headed to my local drug store to purchase that eye-shadow. It's so pigmented and colorful, and the perfect work face!

weekend

We spent a very low key weekend around the lowcountry - and we started it off on Friday evening with Jersey Mike's. JMs is one of our favorite sub shops, you just can't beat it! Mike's Way anyone?

We were also watching The Princess & the Frog for the first time. As you can see, Cadence was pretty into the movie.

#selfie

On Saturday we spent the day at the pool, enjoying the cool water and warm weather.

We had an early dinner at a local eatery, then headed home.

I love when she's laughing hard and has no idea I'm snapping pics!

When we got home, she crashed, and so did Hector the Cat. He loves his human :)

On Sunday we headed to the pier and did some crabbing. Unfortunately we only caught one lonely little crab so we ended up letting him go. However, there were thousands upon thousands of little fiddlers.

Cadence thought they were cute, but she didn't want them too close, as you can see in her face below!

If you look close at what looks like rocks - it's fiddlers!

Although we didn't get any crabs, I took some beautiful pictures!

Yesterday we celebrated Memorial Day by BBQ'ing chicken and remembering those who have sacrificed so much to defend our freedom.

Cadence got to wear her new outfit, and Rosie photo bombed the pic!

Tarl and I took a quick ride in my dads old Chevy to go get some watermelon - it's a southern staple to have watermelon after you BBQ. No makeup and homeless hair sitting beside my main squeeze, gotta love it!

How was your weekend?

May 23, 2014

Happy Friday Y'all!

Wow - this is my 300th post! I started Life in the Lowcountry a little over a year ago and am so happy with the "blog friends" that I have made and the support system that comes along with it. I've had some wonderful opportunities by having this little ole blog of mine and can't wait to see what my next 300 posts bring.

Onto the Friday Five...

I'm loving some Walmart clothes right now. I know what you're thinking, Walmart? Really? Yes - because clothes that are comfortable, fit great, look great and have a price tag of around $10, well in my opinion it just doesn't get better than that. True story - look alike maxi dress (below) in the mall was $40, now why wouldn't I save that $30? Get the point?

Walmart maxi dresses are the perfect summer work outfit, as well as their skinnies. I plan to go back and get a few more pair in an assortment of colors.

//

We have some beautiful beaches here in South Carolina. It's one of the main reasons we have thousands of tourists visit our beautiful state each year. The sand is white and the beaches go on for miles. The one thing that we do not have is crystal clear blue water. Our water is more of a murky gray/green. It's not dirty, just not "Bahamas".

If you haven't heard yet, the water in Folly Beach (Charleston for all who don't know) has "mysteriously" turned into the most beautiful blue color as of Tuesday.Scientists have determined that it has something to do with the calcium carbonate - whatever that is...

We are going to try our best and make a day trip out to Folly Beach this Saturday, to have a little bit of the Caribbean here at home. For more on the story and actual pictures, click here.

//

Over the years Tarl and I have remodeled rooms in our home. We started with our bathroom, then our living room, and most recently our bedroom. Cadence's room is adorned with pinks and lovely pastel hues, so the only real thing to do with her room is to replace the carpet with wood flooring. The next "big" project is our kitchen and this picture, found here, gives me all the inspiration I need.

I love the color contrast between the natural wood and bright white. Add a pop of color like they did with the flowers and voila, amazing! The open shelves are a perfect replacement for cabinets and the solid white tile gives it a clean finish. When we eventually remodel our kitchen, this is the look I'm going for.

//

It seems like I am always changing out my picture frame in the living area to coordinate with the Holiday. It sounds lazy I know, but trying to get the picture perfectly centered in the picture frame is a pain in the rear and I've been looking for that perfect print out for summer - well I have found it and it is so indicative of who we are and where we live!

Under the boardwalk...

//

It's Friday and it's a long weekend. I'll be taking a weekend break from the blog to enjoy it with my family. Happy Memorial Day everyone! :)

Irrational Fears

I am the master of thinking of irrational fears. Maybe it was too many scary movies as a child. Maybe it was the fact that I had three older siblings that treated me like a true older sibling does. Who knows why my brain thinks what it does, but truth is my mind can go some crazy places. Tarl was laughing at me the other day because of the nightmares I can think of in my head. It gave him a laugh so I thought I'd share with y'all.

Irrational Fear #1
Snakes are demons. Back in the day the devil disguised himself as a serpent (true story - read the Bible). Nothing good comes from a snake, not even the little green ones. If I run over a snake with my car, look back in my rear view mirror and don't see it squished like a worm in the road, then obviously the snake has dodged my tires, slithered his way into the undercarriage of my vehicle and is going to make his way through my vents to bite me to death. Or worse, hide underneath my driver seat to strike at any given moment.

Irrational Fear #2
Choking when no one else is around. Normally no one is in the office when I eat my lunch. It's my time of day to take a break, relax, catch up on all the FB drama, and my daily blog reads while eating a well balanced meal (of course).

One day while chomping on some salad, a piece of lettuce went down the "wrong pipe" and I didn't choke, but I did cough so much I had to run outside just in case I was about to vomit (disgusting, I know).

Well this got me to thinking - what would happen if no one was around and I started to choke, as in couldn't breathe, scream or even speak to call 911 and tell them to come do the Heimlich on my ass! After my coughing spell, which caused me to have a raspy voice the rest of the day, I've learned to take smaller bites in an effort to prevent irrational fear #2 coming true.

Irrational Fear #3
There is just something so relaxing about the drive home with my windows rolled down. I love to rewind after a long day of work by turning the music up and rolling my windows down. I don't care if my hair gets wind blown because the work day is done.

One day while riding home with the windows down as I normally do, a semi truck passed by in the opposite lane and a rock flew up and hit my windshield. It didn't put so much as a nick or even a scratch to the glass, but it got me to thinking, what if that rock would have flew up and hit me in the temple of my skull. I would have died immediately.

I'm being in honest in telling you that now when a semi truck passes me while I have the windows rolled down, I cover my temple/side of my head with my hand. I'd much rather take a bruised or broken hand over death any day of the week, just sayin'.

Irrational Fear #4
Whenever something horrible happens, whether it be a tidal wave, hurricane, earthquake, etc., I automatically assume that the world is ending. Sad, I know, but true.

Irrational Fear #5
Cruising is so much fun. I've been on a total of three and plan to go on a Disney cruise in the next few years, however weeks before we are supposed to leave I always watch Poseidon and Titanic (a big no-no) and always freak myself out that some huge rogue wave is going to come and tip us over, where we will most certainly drown or freeze to death.

Irrational Fear #6
Tidal waves scare the bejeezus out of me.Every time we're at the beach I imagine the water being sucked back and this massive wave forming in the distance. Would I be able to run fast enough? Would I survive? These are legitimate questions people!

I have always wanted to visit the Maldives. I have spent countless internet hours researching the best airlines, resort costs, etc - doesn't matter though. Bora Bora has been hit by tidal waves and I'm too much of a chicken shit to go.

Irrational fears...the struggle is real! I have ones that involve my child, but just thinking about them makes my palms sweaty and I'd be here all day and night typing them out.

words you don't want to hear

On an effort to become more healthy this year, I've kept up with annual doctors checkups. The dreaded paps-mere, physical with blood testing just to make sure everything is in check, and my first ever dermatologist and skin care appointment.

I'm in my late 20s and have lived with four moles and countless freckles my entire life. My moles have never itched, became red, or anything out of the ordinary, so I walked into this appointment a lot less nervous than I normally do with doctors.

If you've never been to a dermatologist let me fore warn you that they see more than you OB/GYN does. They will open every little crevice they can find, including in between your toes, just preparing you now...

She started at the top of my head. Moving every strand of my hair sprayed hair, then went to the bottom of my feet. She then went to my back side where two of my moles reside (upper back area) and stopped. She was poking and prodding and my gut went to the top of my throat. Nausea set in and so did the butterflies in my stomach.

She told me that both of my moles looked abnormal and much darker than they should. She strongly suggested that she remove a piece of each to have them tested. Of course I said yes, and I am being 100% honest in saying I didn't feel a thing, not even the needle used to numb the area.

After it was said and done (which took all of 60 seconds for both) not only were a piece of them gone, but the entire mole itself. She cut both of them clear off. I was fine with it.

She told me that they would call me in one week which of course only allows my nerves to set in for the next several days. She explained that they are most likely fine, then proceeded to hand me a pamphlet on melanoma...nice, real nice.

My doctors office is only 10 minutes away from work so I went ahead in. BIG mistake, HUGE, in the words of "Pretty Woman." I got in before my boss. Turned my computer on to start the day and that's when Tarl called to see how the appointment went. The emotions and anxiety set in and so did the tears. Something about the voice of someone you love makes everything come crashing down. At that moment I heard the back door unlock and my boss came in to see me at my desk drenched in tears.

After a polite, "are you OK?", I ran to the bathroom, cleaned myself up, came out and told him that I needed to take the day off. He willingly and happily obliged and going home for the day to spend it with Cadence was just what I needed to calm my nerves.

Spending the day with that sweet girl calmed every anxious bone in my body, because as long as she is healthy, the rest just doesn't matter. Whatever outcome the doctor gives me regarding the health of my skin, we will get through it.

I ask that you keep me in your prayers and that I will one day look back on this and laugh that I over exaggerated and hopefully it will be nothing at all. Just two moles that are no longer a part of me.

Once I got home Cadence and I spent the rest of the day outside on the farm. We checked on the garden which has flourished and also gathered some fresh farm eggs.

The baby kittens are beyond precious. They are my parents and Tarl says "no more pets" so we go visit and take lots of cute pictures.

Rosie, our new chihuahua, has captures our hearts with her cuteness, but in keeping it real, she pissed on our bed the second night we had her, no more bed snuggles for that little chi, sorry Ro...

My nephew played in a talent show last night, so we put on our new dresses (which of course I didn't get a full shot of) and went to cheer him on.

I'm loving my $12 Walmart Maxi and am loving the price even more! Pictures soon, promise!

I also bought these amazingly comfortable mint skinnies for $11 - score! Loving me some Walmart right now and I'm not afraid to admit it! Holla!

I plan on going back to get a peach color and a pink color. They are stretchy, comfy, cute and a price tag to match.

Happy Hump Day!

FaceBook Etiquette (everyone needs to read!)

Just because I don't like the picture, share the post, or if I completely scroll down does not mean I don't love Jesus. I am proud to be a Christian and am thankful that Jesus died for me.

If we're being honest though, I still feel terrible. It's not because I'm ashamed, because I will scream from the rooftops my love for the Big Man upstairs, I just don't share a picture unless it's a giveaway or one fine looking recipe.

_

Limit yourself to one selfie a week. Unless your child, spouse, or any other significant family member is in the picture with you, quit posting pictures of yourself. You look the same as you did yesterday, the day before that, and last week, plus we know you edited that picture and probably took 125 before you got just the right angle.

_

Do not like your own picture. What's the point? You posted the picture so you must've liked it enough to post it, 'nuff said.

_

Stick with one to two hashtags and make sure that they are only one to two words. #aintnobodygottimetoreadthingslikethis

_

DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT have conversations in posts. It drives me batshit crazy when I comment on something and all of a sudden two people start having a conversation. My phone goes off like crazy and it drives me nuts. If you must have a conversation with someone, that's what FB chat is for.

_

Drama - my goodness people if FB would've been around 20 years ago, I'm not sure if "Days of Our Lives" would have ever made it. There is enough drama on FB to keep me occupied all day long. If I have an issue with someone I sure as heck will not post to their FB page for all to see. It's rude and extremely inconsiderate, and makes you look like a dumbass.

_

Unless you specifically know that person plays that particular game, do not send them game requests, or candy crush lives, or a Farmville plant, or whatever is popular at this point in time. There are times when I play games on FB and times when I don't. When I play games I beg for lives in a post like common etiquette tells us too, or I phone a friend, that's polite too :)

*Funny side note - when Farmville was huge, and I mean huge, that's when Cadence was a baby and Tarl and I were to scared to take an infant out in the big world. Essentially our lives were focused on sleep, dirty diapers, Sesame Street and finding fun things at home. Insert Farmville - this fantastic waste of time was a blast and if you remember correctly pumpkins were the bees knees of Farmville. If you had a friend who planted pumpkins you wanted to be the plower of that field. True story - my sister called me at 7am on a Saturday morning screaming in the phone, "my pumpkins are ready." If you remember Farmville, the fruits and veggies went bad and died after so long. Needless to say I turned my computer on so fast and went to plowing, that is when I realized I had hit rock bottom and decided it was time to give it up. #nerd #cantbeleiveItoldyouthisstory #waytoomanyhashtags #hypocrite

I think it's great that people can work from home by selling products. There are actually a lot of products that I've been wanting to try, but please do not try to get me to sell the products, try to sell me the product. I have a full time job, go home to being a mom, a wife, and keeping a house in a moderately clean condition, I don't have time to sell anything on the side.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not discounting the fact that they aren't busy, because being a SAHM is tough, I've been there, but honey boo just sell me something.

_

I'm not going to comment or be a "smart ass" about people posting, sharing and commenting on page pictures to win something, because I have won quite a few things on FB by doing so. I've won Cadence a monogrammed shirt, two hairbows from two different boutiques, a $200 Disney Gift Card and a $30 gift card to a candle shop. Share on people, share on...

_

Language is a no-no in my book. I mean yeah, I may drop a few colorful words on the blog, but that's just to make a funny statement, however I do not drop the *eff* bomb or GD - never! It's trashy and classless...period!

_

I have no problem with unspoken prayer requests. There are certain things that are personal that I have dealt with and wanted prayers for. The prayer is simple, just ask God to be with that person and any issues that they be dealing with in their life. You don't need to know the specific details if someone posts to pray for them.

However, don't post you need unspoken prayers and then when someone asks, "what's wrong", you reply back with "I'll PM you" - let's face it. Curiosity didn't kill the cat, curiosity is what made the kittens and we all want to know. #keepintitreal

_

If you're posting more than 3x a day, you are clearly in need of some FB rehab. I've been there, it's OK :)

weekend

Have you ever thought about or considered moving somewhere far away, where you knew no one and it was completely out of your comfort zone? Well let's just say that Tarl and I have danced around this subject for years, and although we would miss our family and friends dearly, it excites us in the fact that we wouldn't know anyone and could start a new life in a completely different state.

Fortunately for us Tarl's job is one that is always needed, even in a not so thriving economy. Another perk is the fact that he has been well trained and has excellent credentials so finding another job in a new area would certainly be a possibility.

I'm not saying this is happening in the next month or not even in the next year, but definitely something we are finding ourselves talking more and more about.

//

What do you do when  you miss a friend so much that it hurts, yet they owe you a tremendous apology and you know they are too stubborn to admit their wrong doings? That's where I am now and it's made for a crappy few weeks. The most unfortunate circumstance of the whole ordeal is the fact that our children are very good friends and they haven't seen each other as much as they used to with us not hanging out. It's a sad situation all the way around.

Exactly, humble yourself and just apologize
Take personal responsibility for your wrong doings. If you know, for instance, that your actions or words have hurt someone, you must immediately admit your faults and face the reality of your actions. An apology is the super glue of lasting relationships. It can repair just about anything. Never ruin a relationship or your reputation with an excuse, instead of simply apologizing.

I am speaking for my entire family when I say we are all ready for our Disney vacation. Tarl and I are ready for a week off work and time spent together with Cadence and Cadence is ready to meet the princesses. We still have a few months to go and I'm thinking of planning a weekend trip.

The beach sure sounds nice right now!
