To describe our growing up in the lowcountry of South Carolina, I would have to take you to the marsh on a spring day, flush the great blue heron from its silent occupation, scatter marsh hens as we sink to our knees in mud, open an oyster with a pocketknife and feed it to you from the shell and say, 'There. That taste. That's the taste of my childhood.' - Pat Conroy

It's Cold and Crazy out there...

Me and my lovely little family ventured out of the Lowcountry tonight and headed into Savannah, GA! If you aren't familiar with Savannah it's one of the USAs oldest cities and its absolutely gorgeous with all of its intricate cobblestone roads, sweet candy shops, downtown boutiques and of course Riverstreet, which is where all the tourists go.

Living in the Lowcountry with absolutely nothing to do on Friday and Saturday nights you become accustomed to the hour long drive. Savannah has some great shopping and our personal  faves are the Savannah Mall and the Oglethorpe Mall. If you have lived here all your life you probably call it the "old mall" and the "new mall".

We are now on the way home and to pass that hour I've decided to type a post on my iPhone, and I've got to give props to myself, I'm a lot quicker on this keypad than what I thought I would be! I'm sure  I will have some auto correct mistakes but I'm sure you all will get the hang of what I'm trying to say.

On another note and to the point of the post. It's FREEZING! I'm aware that some of you snow bunnies reading this are thinking that 45 degrees isn't anything compared to anything above the Mason Dixon Line but I assure you anything below 50 for this gal is freezing! Not only did we venture out in the cold, but it was chaos! The malls are more packed tonight than they were on Black Friday! Needless to say I wasn't waiting in an hour line for last minute stocking stuffers...off to the local shops tomorrow. Oh we'll, I'd rather shop local anyways!

On a happier note we are still here and it's 12-21-12...guess the Mayans were wrong!?

Off to bed!

P.S. I bought the Princess (my daughter) a super cute tutu for my family Christmas party tomorrow! The line at Claire's wasn't long and this adorb tutu was worth the wait! Will post pics later!
