To describe our growing up in the lowcountry of South Carolina, I would have to take you to the marsh on a spring day, flush the great blue heron from its silent occupation, scatter marsh hens as we sink to our knees in mud, open an oyster with a pocketknife and feed it to you from the shell and say, 'There. That taste. That's the taste of my childhood.' - Pat Conroy

Healthy Home Made Popsicles

While in Target the other day and their amazing dollar spot, Cadence saw a $1 popsicle mold and immediately said, "mom, we can make our own popsicles.". I put it in the buggy and didn't think twice about it. When we got home that is all she talked about so I literally threw ingredients into a mixing bowl and froze them thinking that it was going to taste awful and in fact it was the complete opposite.

They were delicious and we've made them twice since.

Here is what you will need to make 8 popsicles.

A handful of blueberries (we use around 7 large blueberries, cut in half)
Teaspoon of Honey
Two Bananas
One Peach
One 8 oz. carton Organic Vanilla Milk

Mash the bananas on a plate while your good looking hubby peels and pits the peach.

Then mash the peach...

...add the peach, bananas, blueberries and honey into a mixing bowl and stir. Then add the milk and stir until it's all incorporated. There will be small chunks of fruit but that's OK.

This is what they look like out the mold.

They taste great too, and the best part is, they are healthy for you.

On another random note, I made an impulse purchase for Cadence yesterday and bought some flowers to surprise her. She loved them!
