To describe our growing up in the lowcountry of South Carolina, I would have to take you to the marsh on a spring day, flush the great blue heron from its silent occupation, scatter marsh hens as we sink to our knees in mud, open an oyster with a pocketknife and feed it to you from the shell and say, 'There. That taste. That's the taste of my childhood.' - Pat Conroy

Our Last Day in Disney

Our final day in Disney was very bittersweet.
We were ready to get back into our own bed, but it was definitely one of those vacations where we were not ready to go home. Most of the time you're always ready to go home, but not this one.

I honestly thought that even Tarl would be ready to go home, but even he wanted to stay longer.

We knew it was our last day in Disney and of course we would spend the entire day in Magic Kingdom soaking up every last bit of magic and pixie dust that we could. Unfortunately Magic Kingdom closed early that day at 7pm due to the Halloween Party which is a completely separate ticket and not cheap might I add.

We decided to splurge on the Halloween tickets as a final surprise for Cadence. We were all excited about seeing the villains which you normally do not see on an average day in the kingdom.

We got up first thing and headed to MK. We used our snack credits for breakfast at Gastons Tavern and got their world famous (HUGE) cinnamon rolls. We also let Cadence get the souvenir Belle cup.

Frozen apple juice with a mango whipped cream - good not great, but she sure did love the cup!

After breakfast we went and met some characters and then rode some rides.

Later on that afternoon we went back to our resort to change into our Halloween costumes. I wore a Minnie shirt and curly pig tails with red bows, Tarl wore his Grumpy shirt and Cadence was of course, Princess Belle.

We took the monorail to Chef Mickey's to check in for our dinner reservation.

Chef Mickey's is located in the Contemporary Resort where the monorail runs right through the middle. It is so neat to see and actual ride through it, stop and eat. The food and atmosphere along with the characters at Chef Mickeys was great and Minnie was our favorite, she also loved my shirt :)

The food was delicious but those desserts were phenomenal.

After dinner we took the monorail directly to Magic Kingdom where we checked in for the Halloween Party. The decorations they put out for the party were so pretty! Cast Members dress up in their Halloween gear and they even have special pamphlets just for the party itself.

I took a lot of pictures of the castle because I knew it was the last time I was going to see it for a while :(

Since it was our final day Cadence got spoiled with more than one treat. We let her get a Belle music box, a Belle Christmas ornament and she also got light up Minnie ears at the Halloween parade.

At night the castle lit up with a haunting glow.

It got too hot in that Belle dress - good thing I packed an extra pair of clothes!

The halloween parade and hallowishes (the special fireworks show) was amazing. I'm so glad that we went and got to see it as they limit the number of tickets they sell for each party. We rode a few more rides before we went back to our resort at around 10pm that night.

Our experience at Disneyworld was truly magical as they say.
I wouldn't trade those memories for anything in the world.

The planning was worth every minute I spent on it, but to be honest it's a lot of fun to plan it, for me it was anyways. I loved picking out restaurants and things to do for us.

All in all it was the greatest vacation we could have hoped for or dreamed of.

We are going to try our best to go again next year, but if not definitely in 2016!
