To describe our growing up in the lowcountry of South Carolina, I would have to take you to the marsh on a spring day, flush the great blue heron from its silent occupation, scatter marsh hens as we sink to our knees in mud, open an oyster with a pocketknife and feed it to you from the shell and say, 'There. That taste. That's the taste of my childhood.' - Pat Conroy

Weekend

Painted my nails on Friday with Essie's winter collection in Jiggle Hi, Jiggle Low. I'm loving the color. It's lasting, has not chipped all weekend and is the perfect holiday color with sparkle and shine. New favorite? Yes!

We hit up OG (Olive Garden) on Friday night. Love their Zuppa Toscana soup! Nothing beats it! The kale, sausage and potatoes just blends together perfectly!

Of course the stuffed mushroom and fried mozzarella isn't too bad either.
OG is a family favorite.

After dinner we went to my brother's house and hung out with him and his lovely girlfriend while sitting around a fire. It was the perfect weather for a fire.

On Saturday we headed to a little beaten path off of Savannah, in a little town called Rincon where we found this quaint little bistro called Debbie's on 4th Street. Rincon is a small country town adorned with silos (as you can see in the background below), dirt roads and a ton of mom & pop shops - which we love.

We were hungry as we had skipped past breakfast so we headed right into brunch.
Debbie's did not disappoint. It was true home cookin' just like mama makes.
I opted for their Philly Omelette and let me tell you...yum!

Debbie's was like walking into a house. Wood ceilings, antique mirrors on the wall. The plates didn't match with the rest and tables were spread throughout. It was just our style and we can't wait to go back and try their lunch!

We finished our weekend by reading the Elf on the Shelf, watching Christmas movies on Hallmark and devouring Christmas Oreo's.

  1. I love restaurants that have character like that! Those places are usually the best. Found you through the weekend recap - I look forward to following!
