To describe our growing up in the lowcountry of South Carolina, I would have to take you to the marsh on a spring day, flush the great blue heron from its silent occupation, scatter marsh hens as we sink to our knees in mud, open an oyster with a pocketknife and feed it to you from the shell and say, 'There. That taste. That's the taste of my childhood.' - Pat Conroy

two.
Cadence's 5th birthday party is tomorrow and I absolutely love to decorate for it. This years theme is Winter Wonderland, but instead of your typical blues and whites, we put a more "Cadence twist" to it, by making it pink and gold. I'll have more pics come Monday, but here is a sneak peak of the sugar cookies.

I get that this is an explosion of pink, but in my defense the snowman were supposed to be white with pink hats/scarves/buttons, but oh well, they will get eaten anyways, and who says snowmen can't be pink? If you could smell inside this box of deliciousness...oh my word!

three.

Olly our Elf has been up to some tricks and treats!

He brought us a gingerbread house to decorate.

He ate the Reindeer cookies Cadence had made, she was not at all happy about this!

This morning he brought a tree to go along with the theme of Cadence's birthday party, she loved it!

four.

Last night was a Christmas Parade in our hometown, what a fun time! We even saw Santa and
Mrs. Clause!!! Cadence enjoyed swinging with her cousin waiting for the parade to arrive!

five.

With Cadence's birthday party tomorrow, decorating, baking, and cleaning are pretty much on our agenda for tonight, but it is so worth it. I cannot wait to celebrate our beautiful daughters 5th birthday! We are beyond blessed to have a pretty, sweet, healthy girl, who continues to grow daily.

Unfortunately one of my sisters will not be able to attend, so they let Cadence open her birthday gift on Wednesday, she loved what they got her!

I hope each of you have a blessed and happy weekend!
